We’re 4 months into our 12 months of 5k’s and this weekend was a double whammy with races both Saturday and Sunday.
We kicked off the weekend with the Color Me Rad 5k. It’s the 3rd one Jeff and I have done together and it was our favorite to date! The weather was PERFECT, we had an awesome pace, and obviously it’s always fun to get pelted with color!
We ran again with our good friends Erin and Josh. We had a blast with the color packets at the finish line…
The before and after shots are always my favorite…
Sunday was the Head for the Cure 5k benefiting brain cancer research. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and there were severe thunderstorms that kept us from running. We showed up ready to race, but it was pretty miserable. I think a few of the participants actually ran, but we thought safety was a bigger priority and got brunch instead :)
It was a bummer not getting to race, but our registration fee went to an awesome cause! The foundation was able to raise over $30,000 in Omaha alone! Despite being rained out, I still wanted to log my miles for Head for the Cure, so when the weather cleared up, I took a run around our neighborhood. Ruby greeted me at the door…
All in all it was a great weekend! Aside from our race(s), Jeff has been working hard to get Erin’s site ready to go live! You should head over and check it out! He’s done an AMAZING job and Erin is a powerhouse blogger! Ok, brag moment over :)
How did you spend your weekend?
Do you mind running in rain? I’m always amazed when I see people out in rainy weather – I’m a fair weather runner for sure!
