a bridal fiesta

Happy Monday! It’s a rainy day here in Omaha – maybe it will help cut some of this crazy heat!

We had an awesome weekend back in Iowa! We road tripped to my parents’ house on Saturday before heading into Des Moines on Sunday morning. My best friend from high school is getting married this fall, and I helped host a bridal shower FIESTA with the other bridesmaids – it was a blast!

Natalie who hosted the shower at her home did a great job decorating and coming up with all the cute little details – check out these adorable chalkboard cupboards!

And I love this cut paper banner! #adiosTrager

I brought desserts for the occasion – sugar cookie chile peppers, cacti, margarita glasses, and pineapples. They took awhile to make but were totally worth it!

I also made a few diamond rings – any excuse to use glitter in your cookies is a good one ;)

And because it’s always important to have some chocolate, I made mini cupcakes piped with white frosting. I found a tutorial for the fringe toppers here – I think they turned out cute!

For the rest of the food, the girls brought different options for a delicious salsa and guacamole bar. I should have asked for the recipes they used – there was a fruit salsa that was AWESOME!

I made taco cupcakes using wonton wrappers, ground beef, and all the taco fixins’ – they were SO easy and really good!

And to complete our bridal fiesta theme, Natalie found the cutest favors ever – little succulents! I love the little tags she added!

It was a great day celebrating the bride to be! Let the countdown to the wedding begin ;)

What’s your favorite party theme?
What’s your “go to” party food? I always bring the desserts (and eat plenty of them too, haha)
