Hello hello! It’s been awhile since I’ve done a good ol’ life update, and today seems like the perfect opportunity. Our carpets are being cleaned so the girls are snuggled up with a movie in the basement, and I have a few minutes with two hands free ;)
This summer has been a whirlwind of fun, but I’m looking forward to settling into a new Fall routine. Eleanor will be going to preschool four mornings a week, and Everly will be doing one day of Kid’s Day out. I’m kind of mourning the thought of losing my 100% free mornings with BOTH girls in tow, but honestly it’s hard to be sad when I see how excited Eleanor is :)
Ok, now for some recent highlights…
The whole family attended a Fairytale Ball at Omaha Children’s Museum. We had an absolutely amazing time, and I’ll probably do an entire recap post on our experience next week. In the meantime, here’s a peek at Princess Minnie and Princess Elsa :)
We have still been loving our mornings at Baby Boot Camp classes. I wrote a whole post about it a few weeks ago, and I can honestly say that we love it more and more each week. The girls (and I) are making new friends, and the workouts continue to be a great burn! And gosh, the view can’t be beat ;)
A hot streak kept us indoors for a few afternoons, so it was the perfect time to pull out the art supplies. These shimmery watercolors are an absolute fave around here. I’m crossing my fingers that they’re still available at Target because I want about 10 more sets!
The new Adventure Trails opened at the zoo here in Omaha, and it’s AMAZING! Eleanor had an absolute blast climbing through the giant treehouse. And in true Eleanor form, she SANG the entire time. Several of the zoo staff commented on her “performance” – this girl lives her life with a personal soundtrack haha.
I’ve been too intimidated to let Everly try the treehouse, but she’s been happy as a clam exploring the stream that runs through the park. Dumping water and sand can keep a two-year-old busy for a L O N G time. It’s been really fun to see her engage in cooperative play with other kiddos!
Speaking of the zoo, the girls have somehow talked me into doing ALL of the extras at one point or another this summer, haha! Here we are feeding the giraffes. Eleanor wasn’t so sure she liked the experience, but I think Everly could have stayed there all day!
In other news, Eleanor got her first bike! She had waaaaaay outgrown her tricycle, and now that she has something just her size, she’s on a roll! The fact that her favorite bear has his very own seat is good motivation to get out and practice ;)
Eleanor did 3 different week-long camps this summer, and while they made our weeks a little hectic, I’m SO incredibly happy we signed her up! Her last one was FUN-damentals of Art at Omaha Children’s Museum. She had an absolute blast and now knows just about everybody who works at OCM, so our visits are just that much more fun!
With Eleanor busy with her own schedule, I’ve gotten a ton of one-on-one time with little Miss Everly. It was fun getting to take her to all our favorite spots just the two of us as well as explore some new ones!
Our backyard got an upgrade thanks to buybuy BABY – this little monkey bar set has been a total lifesaver this summer! Any extra energy gets burned off right here…
And really, any extra time we’ve had this summer has been spent enjoying ice cream. We should probably reign that in, but I figure we get a free pass since it’s only truly nice in Nebraska for a few months a year ;)
Well, that’s about it! I hope to be back more consistently this once school starts, but in the meantime, I want to hear about your summer adventures!
