I feel like I’m back from a looooong vacation! I’ve been off the grid soaking up every possible moment with family and friends. Eleanor’s 1st Christmas was a resounding success, and I sure loved my 1st Christmas as a mama!
On Christmas Eve we spent the day with Jeff’s family in Omaha. Eleanor got good playtime with her grandparents and aunts and got to show off all of her new baby developments. I bought her a one-piece sweater outfit at BabyGap and didn’t realize until I got her dressed that there were about 15 REAL buttons to get her into it. Diaper changes were quite the fiasco with a wiggly 6 month old and teeny tiny buttons – maybe I should be a baby clothes tester :)
The Murnan family and Santa Claus were very generous and Eleanor loved ripping at the wrapping paper and pulling on bows.
After Mass on Christmas Eve, we headed over to Jeff’s grandparents’ home where his whole extended family assembles. Eleanor was tired from an exciting day, so she slept through most of the evening. She did wake up to open her present though :)
Santa made his 1st stop at our new house on Christmas! Eleanor awoke with some epic bed head which made our Christmas morning photos just that much sweeter. Our little girl can sit all by herself now, so she dug right into her stocking (with a little help from Ruby pup of course)!
Both of our girls scored big from Santa – Ruby pup got a nice new elk antler to chew on and some of Eleanor’s highlights were a jumper, a swing for her swing set, moccasins, and her 1st sippy cup!
After a yummy Christmas breakfast, we hit the road to Iowa to spend a couple of days with my parents. Eleanor’s great-grandmother joined us, and we had a wonderful day filled with yummy food and even more presents. (I think our little lady is all set on toys for awhile!)
I’m so glad Kitty was able to capture both our girls in front of our tree! It’s going to be sad to take down our decorations, but we sure have a lot of great memories from Eleanor’s 1st Christmas! Plus, we need room for all these new toys :)
What was the highlight of your Christmas?
