Nope, it’s not Friday, but I’m making today an honorary “bumpday!” We have a busy weekend ahead of us, so I’m getting a jumpstart on everything that needs to be done.
The past two weeks of pregnancy has had its ups and downs – heart burn is back and I definitely am feeling the pressure of baby on my ribs. My nightly leg cramps have also returned, so I know I need to keep drinking more water. Other than that, sleep has been pretty good and my energy has been steady.
However, I’m at the point in pregnancy where I just feel fat. Just big. All over. ALL the time. It’s a weird feeling to slowly lose the body you once knew. And while watching my bump grow is fun, it’s not as fun when none of your clothes (maternity included) fit right anymore.
I know I’ll miss all of this someday, but right now I’m just ready to snuggle my little babe :)
28 Week Survey
This week, baby is the size of a: large eggplant
Due date: May 1
Gender: Another sweet girl!
Exercise: Great! I’ve been loving our LifeTime membership and still keeping up with my favorite classes at Mommy Fitness
Maternity clothes: Like we discussed above, my current maternity clothes are barely cutting it. I was hoping to avoid spending more money this pregnancy, but I might need to spring for a few more items.
Belly button: Out, out, out!
Sleep: Pretty good – I’ve finally mastered how to use my pregnancy pillow perfectly! :)
Food cravings/aversions: None really – I just eat lots of small meals throughout the day (aka – ALWAYS hungry, but never enough room haha)
Symptoms: Leg cramps are my biggest complaint right now – I wake up several times a night and have to walk them out
Movement: She’s still incredibly active, but I don’t feel the giant sweeping movements I used to. I know she’s slowly running out of space, so now I feel lots more kicks to my bladder and ribs ;)
Labor signs: Nope
What I miss: My clothes! And being able to hold, rock, and play with Eleanor the way I used to be able to.
What I’m loving: I’m in my 3rd trimester!!! :)
Eleanor has been increasingly interested in my belly. She calls the baby by name (yes, we told her, so I guess we’ll find out how good 18 month olds are at keeping secrets) and gives my belly hugs and kisses.
I posted a photo to Instagram yesterday of her putting lotion (soap) on her belly just like I do every morning. She’s incredibly curious about the kicks and jabs she feels while we’re all snuggled up, but is having a hard time understanding why she can’t stand on my belly ;)
She’ll be a fantastic big sister!
