Make sure to read through the end – there’s great free surprise for all Dr. Seuss lovers! :)
As I mentioned yesterday, I attended a fantastic performance of The Cat in the Hat at the Rose Theater on Friday. It was a special preview performance before the BIG opening night, so I was joined by a theater full of eager Kindergarten students. And judging from the laughs and squeals of delight coming from the audience, they loved it just as much as I did!
I was so pleased to hear that The Cat in the Hat was coming to the Rose. I mean, what kid hasn’t grown up reading Dr. Seuss’s classic tales? At 15 months Eleanor is already enjoying the wacky rhymes and silly illustrations. I’m still anxiously waiting for the day she’s old enough to attend a show at the Rose, but in the meantime we’ll keep reading books at home!
The performance was fast-paced, high energy and full of theater magic! The sound effects brought the wonder of Seuss’s characters alive and made for plenty of laughs. While every character was wonderful (the fish puppet was genius), Thing 1 and Thing 2 stole the show. Their silly dance moves and mischievous behavior were comedy gold for a theater full of kiddos.
