it’s a….

And even more importantly, she’s healthy and growing big and strong! Our little girl measured just a few days ahead of her due date, and she was just perfect. Her head was facing my back in my lower, right hip, so we didn’t get to see much of her face throughout the appointment. From the few glimpses we got, we saw an adorable button nose and big, pouty lips! I can’t wait to kiss those cheeks!

She was sitting very modestly with her butt on her feet, but after patiently waiting for what seemed like forever, she cooperated just enough to let us know she was a girl. Her little hands were up by her face and behind her head for most of the appointment. It was amazing to see her opening and closing her fists, covering her eyes and moving around those big, beautiful lips.

We heard her heartbeat at 155 bpm which is always the best sound in the world! It was so incredible having the tech point out all of the important details about her growing body. Spending an entire hour gazing at my healthy baby on the ultrasound screen was amazing. I could have stayed there all day!

We immediately called our little girl’s grandparents and aunts – everybody was thrilled to hear the news! Baby Girl Murnan puts the granddaughter count to 3 (no boys yet in my parents’ family)!

I’ll have to have another ultrasound in 6 weeks to check the position of my placenta. I’m a little worried that it will still be low, but I’m trying to stay positive and just use the ultrasound as an opportunity to see my little girl one more time :)

Oh, and about the predictions we made yesterday…. J and Ruby were right! Amazing that my puppy knew more than me, haha. I think she’s pretty excited about having a little sis…
