Thank you to Mommy Fitness for providing me a membership throughout my pregnancy and postpartum journey
My fitness resolutions for this year are a little different than years past. Being pregnant changes my view of my body, but I still have goals for maintaining a healthy pregnancy and being a good mom for Eleanor!
Traditional new years resolutions revolve around weight, but to be completely honest, weight isn’t even on my radar this year. I think I gained somewhere around 25 – 30 pounds with Eleanor, but I’m not paying much attention to the rising number during this pregnancy. I get weighed at each prenatal appointment, but I try to stay off the scale in-between.
In many ways I feel as though my weight is beyond my control. My body is going to do what it needs to do to prepare for baby. All I can control is my diet and activity level.
So with what I CAN control in mind, here are my mommy fitness goals for the new year!
1. Attend 3 Fitness Classes per Week
My partnership with Mommy Fitness makes this point easy. They offer Prenatal Cardio & Strength and Prenatal Yoga classes throughout the week. Both leave me feeling great! Running is no longer a comfortable option, so I love using the steppers to get my heart rate up and break a sweat.
Yoga has been fantastic for focusing on my baby and the upcoming delivery, working on flexibility, and stretching away those pregnancy aches and pains. I can definitely tell a difference in how I sleep when I miss a class – if that’s not motivation to exercise, I don’t know what is?! :)
2. Keep Moving with Eleanor
There’s no way around it: toddlerhood is a busy, active age! And as a mom, it can be exhausting trying to keep up! Eleanor likes to be on the go, so we generally try to get out for something fun every morning. Pregnancy has slowed me down a bit, but my new years resolution is to keep moving with Eleanor. Whether it be a trip to Go! Kids’ Gym, the zoo, the library, or Toddler Time at Mommy Fitness, I want to use play time with Eleanor to stay active!
3. Eat Smart
Simply put, more of this…
Less of this…
This may be the hardest part, haha!
