It only makes sense that baby number two gets stuck with
a few mostly hand-me-downs. As a second child myself, I know the woes of “shopping” from boxes of my sister’s old clothes.
Everly in particular, with one older sister and two older cousins (ALL girls), is the lucky recipient of used clothes, shoes, blankets and toys. As a mama, it’s the BEST! I love pulling out the next size of clothes and finding the dress my niece wore to our rehearsal dinner or the romper Eleanor took her first steps in.
For us, baby number two has meant a mix of old and new. All of our “baby staples” (crib, car seat, etc.) remained the same, but we make sure to add in some special “Everly flair” here and there.
Old crib, new bedding
Old toys, new toy box
Old clothes, new accessories
Old shoes, and well… new shoes
A tiny pair of Blush Freshly Picked moccasins was one of the first purchases I made when I was pregnant with Eleanor. She began walking in those shoes – the little worn toe marks on the bottom still make my heart flutter when I think about her toddling around.
So when I found out I was expecting another baby girl, I picked out Everly her very own pair – the Heirloom Cream and Gold. Be still my heart :)
Moccs have been a staple for both my girls – taking them from crawling to walking to running! We’ve had a pair for each step. Recently Freshly Picked sent us another pair to add to the “Everly pile.” How sweet is this Ferns and Flora print?
So all of you can vouch for me when Everly is 12 and inevitably complains that she “never ever gets anything of her own.” Think they’ll be making moccs big enough for her then? ;)
Freshly Picked is offering a pair of moccasins to a lucky Makingmine reader – head over to Instagram for more info! Leave a comment HERE for an extra entry – tell me what color of moccs you would pick for your little one!
