one word wednesday: junkapalooza

Ok, so today’s One Word Wednesday is a bit more than one word, but it’s for a good cause! The city of Oakland is hosting a Junkapalooza festival later this month to help rebuilding efforts from a tornado that went through the town earlier this summer.

What is junkapalooza?
Oakland Junkapalooza is a flea-market festival with vendors featuring antique, vintage, and repurposed goods. It’s the perfect place to search for your next Pinterest project! Plus, enjoy live music and wonderful food while you shop!

When is junkapalooza?
September 13th and 14th (open 9am – 7pm Saturday and 9am – 4pm Sunday)

Where is junkapalooza?
Main Street Oakland, IA (just 35 minutes from the heart of Omaha)

What else do I need to know?
Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under (children under 2 are free). All proceeds will go to the Nishna Heritage Agricultural Gardens. Visit Oakland Junkapalooza on Facebook for more info!

Ready to get junking? You can WIN 2 tickets to Oakland’s Junkapalooza – just leave a comment below with what your ideal junkapalooza find would be!**

Need another reason to attend? Walnut’s Antique Days are held the same weekend, so you can hit up both for double the shopping (and crafting)! :)

**Giveaway will end Thursday, September 4 at 11:59pm. Winner will be selected at random and announced on Friday, September 5. US only 18 years +
