You guys, sometimes being a mom is really fun! I mean, there are a lot of great parts, but getting to surprise your kids has to be right up there in the top motherhood moments!
Yesterday I loaded up the girls in the car and headed downtown to The Rose Theater for a surprise preview performance of “Shrek: The Musical.” The girls were bursting with excitement once The Rose was in view and they knew where we were going. I’m going to go ahead and call this my #momwin of the week ;)
I’m always a little nervous how my girls are going to behave once we’re in the theater, but they both did awesome. Thank goodness, because selfishly, knowing how much I loved the movie, I did NOT want to have to miss any of the performance myself!
They shared my lap for most of the show, but Everly decided towards the end that hopping down and standing on her tippy toes was a better plan ;)
“Shrek: The Musical” is an incredibly lively show – it elicits tons of laughter from audience (burps and farts tend to do that), has great costuming, and a talented cast of absolutely wonderful characters.
The girls were total Shrek newbies, but it didn’t come as much of a surprise that Princess Fiona was Eleanor’s absolute favorite part. And I have to agree, the actress who played Fiona had a phenomenal voice!
