There’s no way around it – the holidays are busy! There is shopping to do, presents to wrap, cookies to bake, and parties to attend! And of course, we all want (and deserve) a little time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the season. So how do we make the most of this hectic time?
I have 3 tips for SUPERCHARGING your holidays – take a look:
If you’re anything like me, you look forward holiday baking all year! But is all baking created equal? I say no. The last thing you need is to spend a ton of time in the kitchen only to have to throw away your stale leftovers. You can maximize your baking by choosing your treats wisely. Two of my favorites? Sugar cookies and almond bark pretzels.
Sugar cookies can be rolled out, baked, and frozen in layers separated by parchment paper. Then take out and frost just what need for each of your holiday functions. No waste, and a fresh cookie each and every time!
Almond bark pretzels are a favorite of mine because they only require 3 ingredients, are quick to make, stay fresh, and travel well. These cute little treats are certainly road trip approved! No worrying about arriving with a box of crumbs :)
Spreadsheets are a big part of my life. My husband’s brain is hardwired by Excel, so I’ve learned to embrace this level of organization in all facets of living. Everything from wedding planning to baby prep has been detailed on a spreadsheet. You can do the same for your gift list too!
Keeping track of who you’re buying for, what’s left on your shopping list, and how close you are to your Christmas budget is much simpler when it’s all in one place. I’ve included our family’s handy Gift Giving Tracker for you to download for yourself – Merry Christmas!
Don’t forget the batteries
You know all of those gifts you so lovingly bought? They’re even more fun when they have power ;)
I like to have Eleanor’s gifts preassembled and ready to play with because at 17 months, she has no patience for that nonsense. This year she’s getting a play kitchen with burners that light up and make a sizzling sound (shhhh don’t tell). That means batteries are certainly on my shopping list!
