Thanks to Minted for sponsoring this post!
Hello! I hope you are all having a great week so far! Thanks to all who entered the prAna giveaway – the winner has been notified! Congrats Morgan!
Today I’m popping in to talk about the holidays! The Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years season can be incredibly hectic, stressful, and just plain busy. This craziness can have some unintended consequences like becoming distant and isolated from those around you.
I think honoring relationships is the BEST part of the season, so here are my three ways to stay connected to your friends, family and community over the holidays…
Send Snail Mail
Jeff and I send Christmas cards to our friends and family every year! It feels good to check in with all of our loved ones beyond the world of social media. I must admit, I’m GREAT about the ordering part, but not so good at the whole stamping, stuffing, sealing, and mailing part. I vow to stay ahead of schedule this year! ;)
Minted gifted me with a beautiful set of cards from their foil stamped stationary collection. I am astounded at how wonderful they turned out – definitely the most gorgeous cards we’ve ever sent! My two sweet girls can take most of the credit, but the shiny foil accents sure don’t hurt!
There are so many luxurious options to choose from on Minted. Narrowing down which of the unique designs you want is the hardest part, but then you get to make more important decisions like die-cut shapes, backers, and matching liners. A paper lovers dream!
The design process was seamless, and I was incredibly impressed with how quickly everything arrived at my doorstep. Minted even offers recipient addressing – one more “to do” you can cross of your list ;)
Craft it Forward
A few months ago, a friend told me about an Instagram account I should follow, and I’m SO glad I took her advice! Crafting it Forward speaks to my heart! It’s a subscription service that sends monthly crafts for kids to do with their parents. Each box comes with ALL of the supplies you need for two crafts. It also includes a shipping label for you to box up one (or both) of the crafts to send to a retirement home or children’s hospital.
Crafting it Forward would be a great way to stay connected to your child and your community this holiday season. Buy a box to do at home, or send a craft kit to a child who could use a little sunshine in their life! My niece and I had so much fun making a rainbow mobile and woven yarn basket together. It also turned into a great opportunity for a lesson on giving back!
Bake… and Spread the Cheer
Baking is one of my favorite holiday traditions, and now that Eleanor can join me in the kitchen, I love it even more! She and I have been scheming of fun ways to spread the Christmas cheer this holiday season, and cookies seem like an obvious choice ;)
Keep an eye out for how she and I plan to pay it forward with sweets and treats all through December!
How do you stay connected during the holidays?
