Revamping our Play Room for Winter

This post is in partnership with buybuy BABY, a brand I love. All opinions here are my own.

If there’s one word to describe our family’s weekly routine, it would be “go go go!” Technically, that’s three words, but you get my point ;)

Between preschool, dance class, and trips to all of our favorite Omaha spots (shout out to Omaha Children’s Museum, PE 101 and Go! Kids’ Gym), we are on-the-go more often than not.

But then… winter hits. Whomp whomp. Anybody with kids knows the struggle of GERMS throughout winter. I can safely say I’ve wiped enough snotty noses to last me a lifetime, haha!

Whenever a bug hits our house, it slowly works its way through the family – most recently Everly came down with something, then me, and then Eleanor. Jeff has been spared so far, but I wouldn’t hold my breath on that one ;)

Sometimes it feels like we’re stuck at home for weeks on end – when does spring start again?! This year we planned ahead for winter and revamped our play room for those days (weeks?) when we’re homebound. Because despite being a bit under the weather, my girls ALWAYS have excess energy to burn.

Enter… the perfect play room slide!

Weeeeeeeeee!

The girls can go round and round forever and never tire of this little slide. We found it at buybuy BABY, and it’s the perfect size for a play room and can even fold up when it’s not in use.

And to complete the “kid’s gym?” A basketball hoop!

This Little Tikes basketball hoop has been a fun addition to our play room. We have it set low enough for Everly to play, which means Eleanor is at a perfect “dunking” height, haha!

Our basketball games don’t quite follow all of the conventional rules, but sometimes we keep score on the chalkboard easel. The girls always win, #obviously ;)

The best part about these two fun winter “energy burners?” They can both be taken outside this spring – and let’s hope that’s sooner rather than later ;)

Tell me, how do you burn off your kiddo’s energy during the winter?
