Murnan Wedding: DIY Reception Decor

Even with so many fabulous Pinterest ideas pinned to my wedding board, I was determined not to overcomplicate the day with too many DIY projects. I did however pick out a few special projects to satisfy my crafty side and add a personal touch to the day. One of my favorites was the “happily ever after” banner that stretched across our head table. It tied together our guest book, seating cards and guest favors – not to mention a happily ever after completely captured J and my future together :)

The idea came to me after some wooden pennants arrived in the mail from Pick Your Plum (ps, have I not told you about PYP yet? I’ll save that beauty for another post). Anyways, a wedding banner popped into my head and the rest is history. Here’s how you can make one too:

craft supplies you need to make your own wooden pennant

trace the pennant including the drill holes on the reverse of the scrapbook paper

sponge mod podge on the wooden pennantPlace down paper and use q-tip to remove glue from holesPrint text on label paper and trim to sizeAdhere label and cover entire pennant with layer of mod podgeCompleted banner hanging in reception hall: Happily Ever After

I’m so pleased with how this project turned out! It was the perfect accent for our fairytale day. And… I’m already thinking of ways to repurpose the pieces for a holiday project! :)
