Summer Fun Close to Home

This post is in partnership with buybuy BABY, a brand I love. All opinions here are my own.

You guys, I can say without a doubt, that this summer has been the best. As much as I love a snuggly baby, having an independent toddler really opens up life. We’ve been on-the-go practically nonstop this summer, but my favorite place to hang out with the girls is our own backyard.

sistersMore and more often, I get to step back and watch the girls truly connect and play together. It’s honestly what I’ve been waiting for since I found out we were expecting baby #2! I cherish my relationship with my big sister, and it’s incredible watching Eleanor and Everly’s own sister relationship unfold.

I catch them in little moments like looking at a book together, putting on tutus, or loading up their purses to go “shopping,” but nothing brings out their teamwork quite like heading outside ;)

backyard in the summerYou’ve probably seen the swing set and play house splattered all over my Instagram this summer, but we recently added something new to the mix – a roller coaster! I can’t even begin to tell you the number of afternoons the girls have spent running circles around their little Step2 coaster from buybuy BABY.

Yes, the big moments in life like birthdays and vacations are wonderful, but it’s the lazy afternoons kicking back with my girls that hold the biggest piece of my heart. This little roller coaster will find a new home in our basement once winter hits. I can’t wait to see what these two are up to next!

What are your little one’s favorite summer toys? Mamas of two, do your littles like to play together?
